The original partnership of Brain Travel Associates was formed in 1969 with the objective of providing a wide variety of consultancy services to the travel and tourism industry.
BRAIN & COMPANY evolved in 1989 in order to concentrate our efforts towards furnishing travel expense and management consultancy services to industry and other organisations. Our Directors and consultants have advised senior executives in commerce as well as Government and Ministerial officials on a diverse number of travel related topics.
In 1995, Brain & Company was integrated within the management and marketing group known as Management Solutions (UK) Limited.
In April 1996, Brain & Company became the European associates of Management Alternatives Inc of Stamford Connecticut, USA, the oldest travel management company in the world.
In July 1997, we started expanding our ability to provide truly global travel and expense management consulting services by helping to found a new alliance known as the Management Solutions International Group. TERESA BRAIN - Director of Operations. Experience encompasses management within hotel sales, corporate sales and P.R., tour operation, administration, and training. Apart from her commercial activities Teresa has been actively involved in assisting students to achieve their National Certificate of Vocational Qualification in Tourism and Travel. Teresa is the former Treasurer of the Benevolent Fund of the Association of Women Travel Executives.
COLIN BRAIN - Senior Director & CEO. Colin is a former Travel Agents Council Chairman of the Association of British Travel Agents. During his career with ABTA, he spent six years as vice-chairman of the Technology Committee and also chaired the Aviation Committee for two years.
Colin graduated as a Commercial Consultant and qualified for Fellowship of the British Society of Commerce. He also qualified as a Fellow of the Institute of Management and the Institute of Travel & Tourism and has travelled the world in pursuit of the interests of travel & tourism. He is the first consultant specialising in travel to be granted the status of Certified Management Consultant in the UK and as such has been awarded membership of the Institute of Management Consultants.
Various Government Ministers have sought Colin's advice on aviation and technology related issues over the years and he has also featured on a number of television shows including
The Money Programme on BBC 2. Since 1975 Colin has personally pioneered all forms of travel agency automation.
RAY BYERLEY – Former Senior Consultant Ray was also a former Director and member of the National Council of the Association of British Travel Agents. Following a lifelong career with Hogg Robinson, which included a term as Director of Business Travel Sales, Ray was appointed the founding Managing Director of the global travel organisation, Business Travel International in 1990. Ray also served with Colin as a National Council member and Director of the Association of British Travel Agents. Ray was a founding partner of Management Solutions (UK) Limited in 1990 and remained a colleague until he retired in 2000.
